This is the animal that is the main draw for foreign big game hunters. The Red Stag was introduced into the province of La Pampa at the turn of the century and has flourished there. This breed has also been spread to the mountainous areas of western Argentina.
The Stag grows a magnificent set of antlers, forming a beautiful corona on the top. In March at the beginning of the season begins the rut or Brahma. The Stags begin to roar loudly making for an exciting hunt. Many Americans find it similar to hunting elk during the rut or bugle season.
